65% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 5% other varieties, with just under half of the vines dating back to 1920.

This cuvée comes from four complementary parcels: rolled pebbles bringing richness and power, sandy soils for freshness and acidity, red clay with pebbles for structure, and a sandy-limestone slope adding finesse.

Domaine de la Janasse Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is the estate’s flagship cuvée, consistently ranked among the best internationally. On the nose, this 2022 vintage has subtle notes of crushed black fruit and garrigue that meld into a refined, fresh palate, revealing finesse and elegance.

Producer profile

Founded in 1973 by Aimé Sabon, Domaine de la Janasse grew from 15 to over 90 hectares thanks to his vision and expansion of prime terroirs. In 1991, his son Christophe brought new energy, diversifying cuvées and markets, and was later joined by his sister Isabelle in 2001. Together with their mother Hélène, the family has made La Janasse one of the leading estates of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
