A plot selection from the Le Grand Devès vineyard, in the commune of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The vines are 60 years old on average. The soils are mainly composed of Cretaceous limestone slabs known as lauzes. This type of soil, which is rare in the appellation, gives the red wines freshness and elegance and contributes greatly to their balance.
Wonderfully complex nose of red and black fruits with spice and notes of lavender. Great concentration with complex fruit flavours and minerals and touches of white pepper. Really stunning finish with finely-grained tannins held together by a beautiful minerality that is derived from the limestone terror. Supremely elegant. Best drunk 5 to 10 years from the vintage date.
